Papertake Weekly - Easter challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly, and this week, it's an Easter Theme that is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. I've been waiting for a week to post this card. This is one of those that I absolutely love and couldn't wait to show you!! LOL! I used three of the new stamps from the Hoppy Easter/Spring collection available at Magnolia-licious. I used #3032 Little Bunny Tilda (one of my new favorites), #449 Big Hoppy, and #650 Spring Fence. I stamped Little Bunny Tilda an extra time cause I wanted a matching ribbon for around Big Hoppy's neck. This reminds me of the Lucille Ball and Harpo Marx episode of I Love Lucy. LOL!

Both Little Bunny Tilda and Big Hoppy are cut out and popped up on dimensional tape. All the stamps are colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' from a set called Happy Easter Inside and Out Greetings Printable Stamps. This set is packed full of Easter Greetings for all your needs! The papers are all digital from Nitwits in a set called The Carrot Patch. I added a silk bow made with my Bow Easy, and hung a cute bunny charm from it.

That's it for me today! Please be sure and hop over to Papertake Weekly to see the fabulous creations from the design team. You're in for a real treat! Then get busy and make your own Easter project to join in on the challenge. You might get lucky and win a fabulous prize from Simon Says Stamp! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!! Hugs!

Tilda with presents with The Cutting Cafe'

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you're enjoying the weekend! The weather is beautiful here in sunny Reno today! This card was so quick and easy to put together! I was really quite surprised at just how quick and easy it was. I used one of the brand new Tilda stamps I received from Diana at Magnolia-licious. She's #249 Tilda with Gifts and is available for preorder right now! Please remember - do NOT purchase pre-order stamps with in stock stamps!!

The cute background paper is from The Cutting Cafe'! Isn't is so colorful and fun??!! It's from the Assorted Colored Birthday Celebration background stamp and I love it!!! I just printed it up and matted it with my different colored Bazzill cardstock. Easy Peasy!!!

I used my Nestabilites to mount Tilda on after I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out. She' mounted with dimensional tape and so is the scalloped mat that she's on. Added some pretty little flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, some gorgeous silk ribbon from Stamp and Create made with my Bow Easy, and some leaves from my Martha Stewart frond punch, and this one was done! I used another sheet from The Cutting Cafe' inside the card as well.

That's it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!

She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up off the top panel. I used one of my all time favorite color combinatios, yellow and blue. All the papers are from Nitwits, and the panels are all machine stitched. I had the cutest little charm where a chick is hatching out of his shell, and this card just screamed for it! That gorgeous "to die for" lace, yummy silk ribbon, and tons of charms, are all available at Stamp and Create.

Please be sure and join us over at Wags n' Whiskers for the challenge, and remember to play our challenges you must use a Wags 'n Whiskers Rubber Stamp as your main image to be entered into the prize drawing. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Kraftin Kimmie discovers a happy birthday!

One of my friends at work commissioned me to make a card for his mom, and she is really into tie dyed shirts. So after some thinking, this is what I came up with. I've got to say that I totally and completely love how this card came out!! I got this adorable Kraftin Kimmie stamp called Josephine from Lacey at Stamp and Create. She's from the Moonlight Whispers line, and the stamp is actually supposed to be a love potion. The only problem was a love potion wasn't what I needed for this card. So after some thought, I realized that after years of trying, Josephine discovered something different!!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. I also added some Smooch to her jewelry and the little doodads hanging from her skirt wrap. I thought up the sentiment myself, and then printed it out on my computer. Here's a close up of the sentiment (I doodled around it).

The paper is Basic Grey, and I also used a Martha Stewart border punch. The stamp on the sentiment mat is one of the extra stamps that comes with Josephine. The bow was done with black silk ribbon (sooooo lucious!!) and my Bow Easy. And I added another one on the inside of the card with a charm.

So what do you think? Think she'll like it? I sure hope so!! That's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!

Wags 'n Whiskers - Pop it up for dimension!

YAY! Happy Friday!!!!! I do so live for the weekends when I don't have to go to work! WOOHOO! Playtime! And wow, is it ever going to be a gorgeous weekend! Up around 70 and sunny both days! Who's ready to come to Reno??!!! :) Since it's Friday, it's time for a new challenge from Wags 'n Whiskers!! This weeks challenge is from the fabulously talented Chris! And she picked a perfect challenge for me....Pop it up - Add dimension to your creation. And oh do I love dimension. I can't make a card without popping something up. LOL! Thanks Chris!

I chose to use this absolutely adorable image called Happy Day. Isn't she fabulous? I colored her with Copics and cut her out. She's mounted on dimensional tape onto the frame I cut with my Cricut Expression. The frame is also popped up from the card. You know...since I started using my Gypsy, I can't remember which cartridges I use anymore! I guess it's cause you don't have to go through the turmoil of digging out the cartridge and putting it into the machine. I love it!! LOL! But now I always forget! Sorry!

I used Basic Grey June Bug paper that I got from Stamp and Create, along with the ribbon and charms too! Cardstock is Bazzill and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Please be sure and visit Wags 'n Whiskers challenge blog to see the amazing creations of the rest of the Diva's. And then grab your paper and glue, and your Wags 'n Whiskers images, and play along. Be sure and use your WnW image though if you want a chance to win a free stamp! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Lilac and Lemon with Peggy Loves Vintage

Hi everyone! Monday is done and it's time for a new Papetake Weekly challenge. This week, Dawny is looking for Lilac and Lemon. Isn't it a glorious combination of colors? I love it! I wanted to use this adorable image from Peggy Loves Vintage. Isn't it the cutest little goose you've ever seen? Peggy thinks (and I agree) that she looks like a snow goose. Anyway, if you visit Peggy's blog, you can get her for free!! Yep, for free! Just click on the pic so you blow it up to full size, and then right click on the pic and save it to your computer.

This is just one of the hundreds and hundreds of adorable images that Peggy has on her vintage cd's. And they're soooooo easy to use! I just printed this little cutie out four times on one sheet. I cut one of them out, then started cutting out pieces and layering for dimension and cuteness. :)

I took the fourth goose, and framed her cute little face and hat with a circle nestie to adorn the inside of the card. The lemon polka dot paper is digi from Pink Petticoat, and the lilac cardstock is Bazzill. I decorated the corners with a small punched flower centered with a Dew Drop, and stitched all the panels. I also added some yummy yellow silk ribbon and a cute butterfly charm that are available at Stamp and Create.

Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out our sponsor for this week, and then grab your paper and glue to play along for a chance at a fabulous prize! And don't forget to visit Peggy Loves Vintage and her blog, and leave her some love for the free images! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Magnolia-licious Blog Hop and acetate challenge, plus a little candy

Good morning and happy Monday! It's time for our monthly blog hop and challenge from Magnolia-licious! This month, we've made a spring/Easter project using acetate! If' you've made your way here from the awesomely talented Becca, then you're in the right place! But if you just happened upon the hop, then you might want to hop over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog to see all the details and start at the beginning.

I don't know about all of you, but I have a definite love/hate relationship with acetate. I truly love the look you can get with it, but once I start gluing, I always tend to make a mess of things. All I can say is thank goodness for Un-du!! I knew I wanted to have a window to the inside of the card, so I started out by making my card with a small spine. Since cardstock is only 12", I knew I couldn't make my standard 6" card with a spine (and still have a square card anyway). So I went with a 5 1/2" card this time. I cut my base at 5 1/2" x 11 1/4". Then scored it at 5 1/2" and 5 3/4". I made my card front with my cardstock and DP, and then cut out the circle with a round nestie. I then made the scalloped frame with the nesties, too. I decided we would be looking through to Tilda's little flower garden.

I used the following Magnolia stamps on my card..... Bee Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection, Wilma with Rose, and the tree, (sorry - being true to my tradition, these are not in stock. Please just conact Diana if you are interested), and #427 Lazy Summer Flowers. For this card, I didn't want Wilma to have the rose in her mouth, so I just trimmed it off when I cut her out. I think the ability to do this makes the stamps so much more versatile! The stamps are all colored with Copic markers and cut out. I used the air brush system for the sky, and a Copic Multiliner for the grass line.

I wanted a full scene through the window, yet I also wanted a panel for being able to put a sentiment and sign the card. So I figured I would just make like a little book out of it. So instead of just cutting my sentiment mat as a square, I cut it out twice as long and scored it in half length wise. I had a little trouble having it stay closed if I set the card up for display. So I attached a piece of velcro to the inside where the sentiment mat goes. Then I was afraid that nobody would know there was an area for a signature, so I resolved that by making a small "lift" tab and attached it to the garden page. Here's a picture of the sentiment mat.

Now it's time for the fun stuff! When the new Pirates/Bridal/Prom/Magic stamps came out, I grabbed an extra #248 Jolly Roger Tilda especially for this blog hop! If you'd like to win her, just leave a comment under this post by midnight Pacific time on March 20th. I will randomly choose a winner and post on March 21st. Now it's time to pop over visit our talented guest designer,Angie, and see what awesomeness she's cooked up for you! Thanks so much for joining us in the hop today and hope to see you back again tomorrow for a new Papertake Weekly challenge! Hugs! Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win this stamp!

Espressly for you! Some new files from The Cutting Cafe'

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! The sun is shining beautifully here in sunny Reno! Today, I 've got a card made with some new files from The Cutting Cafe'! I do love my coffee, and that's what these files are all about. First I used the Coffee Cup Shaped Card! Isn't it awesome??!! I love it! I cut it out in Bazzill cardstock, and then cut the front out again with some Graphic 45 paper. I just adore this paper and bought so many sheets when I first saw it! The trim and tag are done with the reverse side of the paper.

Then I printed out one of the circle sentiments from the new file called Got Coffee! LOVE these new files from Regina! I just cut the circle sentiment out with my nesties, colored the cup with some Copic markers and dirtied up the edges a little with some Jumbo Java chalk ink. It's popped up from the cup with some dimensional tape. Finally I added some mini roses from Wild Orchid Crafts along with some leaves as well. Added a small organza bow made with my Bow Easy, and this on was done. I just love the way it turned out! The coffee cup shaped card even comes with an envelope you can make for it too! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back tomorrow for the Magnolia-licious blog hop! There will be a little bit of candy for you too! Enjoy the rest of your day! Hugs!

It won't matter!

Oh how fun was this card to make! A friend at work asked me to make a birthday card for his wife. So I set to work. I thought about it for quite a while, trying to figure out exactly how I wanted to approach it, and started going through my digital stamps. When I came across this stamp of Jill from Mo Manning, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! So I grabbed my pen and paper and made up this little verse to go along with this absolutely adorable stamp!

Here's a close up of the verse so you can see what it says. Kind of sums up how we feel about birthdays in our thirty's, doesn't it??!! LOL! Just click on the pic for a nice close up. I printed her out and colored her with Copic markers. I used lots of cardstock in this one with machine stitching.
I got that fabulous charm (that matches the pattern in her shirt) from Stamp and Create. Lacey also has the silk ribbon available (along with tons of other fabulous ribbons and lace), and if you haven't tried it yet, you are in for a real treat! I love the looks of it. Talk about making some fabulous bows with your Bow Easy!

That's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Have a fabulous weekend! Hugs!

Wags 'n Whiskers - make your own flowers!

Happy Friday everyone! WOOHOO!!! And that means it's time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge. This challenge is brought to us by the amazing Michele Roos, and she asked us to make our own flowers. I chose to use this adorable stamp called Gemma and Bella's Spring Fun. Aren't they just the cutest?! They're colored with Copic markers. Now I don't know if you know Michele, but she makes the most amazing flowers EVER! In fact, she is single handedly responsible for me buying three or four different sets of Nestabilities to try and make my own flowers. Needless to say, I'm still buying flowers! LOL! But I did dig out my blossom Nesties and used them to make the big flower. For the daisies, I used my Cricut.

Please be sure and pop over to Wags 'n Whiskers to see the gorgeous cards made by the rest of the design team. They really rocked this challenge! Then we'd love it if you'd join in on the challenge and create your own flowers for your project. And be sure and use a Wags 'n Whiskers image if you want a chance to win a new stamp! Thanks for stopping by to visit me today, and hope to see you back again soon!

Have you heard? A new Papertake Weekly challenge

Happy Tuesday! Monday is done and over with, and the week is marching on. It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week it's a fabulous sketch from the uber talented Dawny! We're being sponsored by Dies to Die For. I skewed the sketch just a little with the text and the height of my images. I had SO MUCH fun making this card! I just love lots of dimension on a card, and I love making scenic cards. So you can imagine I enjoyed this one!

I used one of the new stamps from Magnolia-licious in a collection called Raising The Ceiling. She's #372 Love News Tilda. I don't think I've seen this cute little Tilda used at all, and I don't understand cause she's adorable! And she's perfect for any kind of "news" or "announcement" type of card. Along with her, I used one of the houses from #511 Edwin's Town. I ADORE this stamp and will use it many, many times! The houses can be cut apart and used individually, just like I did here. This adorable tree is also a Magnolia stamp, but Diana doesn't have it in stock right now. If you're interested, please just drop her an email. The stamps are all colored with Copic markers and then cut out. The house is popped up from the tree, and then Tilda is popped up even higher than the house. It didn't look right to have the house just sitting there, so I VERY CLUMSILY made a little rock walkway (close one eye and squint and you might be able to tell what I meant it to be!!) up to the doorway of the house.

I added a beautiful silk ribbon tied with my Bow Easy, and attached a cute little birdie charm to it. The papers are from a new line of Cosmo Cricket (I think it was from Garden Variety, but not sure as I used both pieces of each pattern from my pack). Cardstock is Bazzill and used lots of pop dots on this card! The sentiment is computer generated. Heres a shot that shows the dimension a little better.

Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see the fabulous designs by the rest of the Design Team, and then grab your paper and glue and join in on the challenge! You just might get lucky and win a fabulous prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!! Hugs!

Some awards I've received

I'm so blessed. I truly am! I've made some of the most amazing friends through this fun and addictive craft. I have recently received several awards from some of the most amazing, creative, and talented people I know. I'm extremely appreiative of these awards. I'm soooo bad about posting them, and I really hope I've listed all that I have received. I will be honest though. I won't pass them on. Simply because I can't stand the thought of someone being sad about not getting an award for their blog. So here's the deal....if you're visiting me, you deserve these awards. You TRULY make me smile with your friendship, support, and kindness. And for that, I award you with both the Beautiful Blogger award and the Sunshine award.

I received the Beautiful Blogger award from the fabulous Susan! Susan was my Design Team sister for a long time over at Bitten By The Bug and she is sooo fabulously talented! I also received it from the lovely Ladybug Linda! Linda can sure work wonders with her Cricut! Thank you so much ladies! I so appreciate your kindness and you're truly such an ispiration to me!

I also received this beautiful Sunshine Award from the very talented Deboarah. I was very lucky to have met Deborah a couple years ago at a Cricut Swarm over in Sacramento. We had so much fun, and I made friendships that will last a lifetime! Thanks so much for thinking of me, Deborah! I also received it from my long time friend, Nikki! Nikki and I were design team sisters for a long time for Bitten By The Bug! She's amazingly talented and has always been an inspiration. Nikki even has her name and cards mentioned on the Cricut Expression Infomercial. Yep! When you hear the name Nikki Duey....that's my friend!!! I also received it from my wonderful friend, Margie. I "met" Margie ages ago over on the Cricut message board. This chickie is talented and works wonders with her Cricut and Cuttlebug! She's such a sweetheart and I truly love her work!
Ok, for the Beautiful Blogger award, I'm supposed to reveal seven facts about myself. Oh sheesh...ok...here we go:
1. I love to crochet. I'm trying to get back into now. I don't have any time to spare at home with my crafting, so I've starting playing with at lunch when I'm at work.
2. I am such a MESSY scrapper! It drives me crazy, but I just can't stop creating during a project to put anything away. So usually by the time I'm done with a card, I'm working in a little 12" space.
3. I love making cards and sharing them with friends and family, but I have the most terrible time getting them in the mail on time. What is up with that????? I don't understand it. For the life of me, I don't understand it! My cards are ALWAYS late!
4. I am a family girl, and I hate that I have family that lives thousands of miles away. It breaks my heart every day.
5. I cry at the drop of a hat and wear my heart on my sleeve.
6. I truly love to make people laugh, and have a pretty good sense of humor.
7. I LOVE to eat popcorn and M&M's together. LOL! Salt and chocolate. YUM!
That's it! Thanks again to all of you, and please....take the awards. You deserve it for making my day by stopping off to visit me. Thanks for popping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
